Online Scouting Program aims to encourage the young people to take constructive place in society as responsible citizens in local, national, and international communities, personal fitness and provide holistic development through the online platform. Here are the top objectives of the program: to give awareness on the importance of Online Scouting Program during pandemic; to promote Online Scouting based on the high quality and relevance of its methodology and programs; and to provide opportunities for its members to participate in school based, district, division, regional, national activities. What must be developed among the scouts is a sense of personal identity and self-worth which leads to a responsibility for oneself and one’s actions as a citizen. This program was introduced to the Junior High School of Culiat High School through the help of the registered unit leaders Sctr. Maria Theresa A. Bautista, Sctr. Marcial E. Renacia Jr., Sctr. Ronape A. Galisanao, Sctr. Clarita C. Cabanganan and with the guidance of Sctr. Melvin F. Tamundong, Senior Scout School Coordinator; Sctr. Richard T. Butac, Institutional Scouting Chairman; and our beloved principal Dr. Florito J. Gereña, Institutional Scouting Head.
It was conducted last April to June 2021 during 3rd and 4th Quarter of the school year. It was integrated in our MAPEH class, using Google Meet as our platform. Different lessons were taken up during the online sessions which was participated mostly by Grade 7 students. It was fun, informative, and very challenging because of the new normal system of scouting.
Our scouts and scouters took the challenge to continue scouting amidst covid-19 pandemic and vowed to bring success to MAPEH Department and to the Culiat High School. The program was recognized by the district, division, regional, and national level of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
